Hello,

Cleaning our chimney and wood stove for the first time and I don’t think there was a weight on the baffle insulation. I’d rather not pay $25+ for a replacement OEM part. Could I just use a thin piece of steel or two? I’m not sure what those weights are typically made of or how much they weigh.

Some stoves don't have a weight on the insulation blanket. If you want one, see if you can get a scrap 3-4" square of 1/2" steel from a metal shop.

I think a piece of rebar or an old spike would hold the insulation will enough.

I think the one in ours is the cutout from the top of the stove...its about a 6" diameter circle and 1/4"ish thick...
