Hello everyone,

I am having an Avalon/Travis Industries Newport Bay insert installed to my zero clearance pre-fab fireplace on November 3, so I need to start finding pellets. Does anyone have a good source in the Portland Oregon area? I did look at Home Depot and they have pellets for $3.99 a bag. Thanks for your help!

Sure I live in Kalama, wa. were in portland are you? if you PM me I will give you a pretty good list of retailers that carry them all over vancouver and some places in p-town, I do not think we are suppose to drop names on the forum.

You must have lots of suppliers. WOW pellets are manufactured nearby. http://www.wowpellets.com/p_pellets.shtml I burned their Blazers last year. Try your local Fred Meyer store and also check Home Depot.

Also good in the area are Lignetics (Idaho), and some Canadian products. Clean burn is made locally in Tacoma, WA.

I guess it does not matter on the names so here goes.

Milwaukee Lumber has Clean Burn
Shorty's in Vancouver has clean burn
Ludeman's has some not sure on brand
Home depot has them
Lowes
most feed stores in sw washington.

as for prices you will find them to be $149-$200 a ton.

I just bought a ton of CleanBurn for $149 from Milwaukee lumber in vancouver. they are the same as Goldenfire, 100% Doug fir.

if you PM me I can give you a better list of retailers, pellet brand, and price as well as phone number of the places. I am a little obsessive

Pretty pricey by the bag. You'll do much better to buy it by the ton. Blazers locally were $180/ton.

At our local lumber store and at the True Value Hardware store. Del's Farm Supply locally has a fall special at around $140/ton for CleanBurn or Pioneer pellets.

Have you checked Fred Meyer yet? Do they offer 1 ton pricing?
