How far away from the wall do I have to be??? I have a Englander 30NC with rear and side shields and a double wall stove pipe!

According to manual:
Stove -
side and rear shields, double wall connector (I have both) - 5"

Flue Connector to back wall-
Double wall connector with rear & side shields - 7"

Floor and wall protection-
8" behind stove

I know using 8" would be best, but it's taking up a lot of floor space and I have rafter/joist issues to deal with. Any help would be great!!!
