Hey all-

I have a stand alone t300p I've went rounds with but kept up and running for the last 5 years now. The other day it stopped firing up, and I did my normal morning of a thorough cleaning on it to get it up and running. Normally after this cleaning, when its first turned on it goes into its normal fans running, auger feeding pellets, etc. - and a few minutes in the stove will briefly fill with white smoke, which quickly poofs into flame. This time, I got no white smoke and no flame. Every other function of the stove seems normal. After messing with it for awhile, I manually lit some pellets on fire and the stove continued to work fine once I had introduced flame. My instinct says ignitor, but I always like a second opinion before ordering a part.

I've tried to find local support, but the lack of knowledge I've found through local businesses is almost alarming. Maybe I just haven't found the right place, but man most of the people I've talked too sound like they are talking to a martian when you ask about a pellet stove.

First post here - looking forward to networking with some pellet stove types. My stove is great when its working.

You can test the igniter by taking the leads and connecting them to a multimeter and check for resistance. If you have infinite resistance on the igniter then it is bad which is the most likely cause. There is also a fuse inline with the igniter which you can check. It is in a section of wiring that looks almost like someone wrapped a bunch of electrical tape around the wire. Give it a twist and it will open and you can check the igniter in there.
