Greetings boiler gurus,
I have been a reader and have just now registered thanks to all for all of the valuable info.
I have a regular old energy king boiler with no mixing valve. Do I need one and why? I don't want to kill my boiler.
Thanks for your help

A mixing valve is used for a few different purposes depending on the application. I'm assuming that you mean a mixing valve which would be used to protect your boiler from cold water shock and condensation problems.

Or if you have radiant floor heat and want to run it at an exact temp.
