Does anyone have a wireless T-stat? I'm curious thought and experience and really how the heck they work? Must attach something to the stove and the unit "reads" from where it is?

I have this model, as do many on this forum. (broken link removed to http://cgi.ebay.com/Skytech-3301P-Fireplace-Remote-Control-Programmable-TH_W0QQitemZ280401760943QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&itemid=280401760943)

It is two units a trasmitter (termostat) and receiver (relay) and works on RF not IR. Mine works like a champ! If you don't want/can't run a wire this is the way to go.

I have the same one that dbjordan posted.
Little pricey but works awesome.

I just ordered the 3301p Skytech...reports to come.

There is a reciever thats wired to the stove on 2 terminals and the transmitter hangs on the wall or can be used like a remote from any location within range

I have a smart-stat-II Remote wireless stat works good I am on second year with this unit.

Remote in and out of the wall mount.

Piece that goes on the stove I keep tucked behind but
put it to the side for this pic.

I also have a Skytech 3301p, I love it! It has been in service for right at a year and has worked flawlessly and with the programmable feature our house is always toasty when it needs to be yet conserves very nicely when it doesn't need to be as warm. Very easy to use and setup, I would highly recommend it.

I have 3301p also, works great. Have the receiver velcroed to left side bottom of stove under the control panel & main unit on wall in adjacent hallway. $99 delivered ebay.

Fed Ex tryed to deliver my Skytesh yesturday but the require a dam signature for it and no one is home untill 3:30!

I don't think that was an option...

Can you run this on a Harman (that is the 3301p)??? If so do you have to deal with that blinking issue that everybody talkes about with the stats on those things??

Where did I put that remote?

I'd like a wireless T-stat but my old St. Croix can't use one... not sure why. This IS the year for a T-stat.

Anyone know how to wire the Skytech to a St. Croix York insert?
My manual says to wire to the two white wires with red stripe on the lower right side of the stove in the harnes but i don't see those wires...i see two white wires that run to the front of the stove?
Help please, got my stove disasembles and non operable waiting a reply...

Page 18 in the install manual (broken link removed to http://www.eventempinc.com/stcroix/downloads/dig2/York_Insert_Installation_Manual_12-05.pdf)

Looks like the thermostat connections go right on a terminal block on the control board.

I have that manual but thans anyway.

Like cuf says, t stat wires connect to lower left of the control board
according to pic in the pdf manual.

Well then follow the wires to where they attach to the control board. If the white wires you have aren't going to that terminal on the board then you have the wrong ones.
If that manual doen't help then you'll have to wait until womeone with that model stove comes along.
The only other white wires will be the power cord, distribution and combustion fan neutral wires. Those ones are easy to rule out.

Doesn't it say that the terminal block for the T-stat connection is on the BACK of the board?

There's a pic in that manual that points to the wire harness and says "thermostat wires are two white with red strip wires"

There's also a pic (fig 17) that says
"Thermostat terminal on back of board"
and it shows a line pointing to the exact
location.
