We would appreciate any advice on efficiently operating a wood-fired boiler system like TARM Solo in coastal Virginia. Our temperatures can really vary in the winter months, but we don't have the extreme cold that many of you face up north. We have heated our 1- 1/2 story log home with a wood/oil forced-air furnace system for the last 20 years, but are considering a change to a cleaner, more efficient system. Excessive creosote production and smokey burns have plagued our existing system even with lots of tweaking and adjustment. Also, if we move to a boiler system, we will probably be without a storage tank for the first season. Thanks for this forum--great information.
