I tell my wood guy only HARD WOOD but sometime when he drops off a load I haven’t a clue what he drops.

Take a look - he told me it was hard wood but didn’t say what it was - although it does have that hard wood feel some pieces show a white’ish color - any clue what these are?

looks like mid hard maple - not silver or red also not sugar. My Bio hard drive isn't working real well today.

I just got ahold of his driver (they just dropped off he load) -he says they told him it was indeed maple however the white flesh looking wood is new to me as maple....

+ 1 Norway Maple. Great firewood - nice score!

+2 Norway maple

thanks all - I kind of feel like a tool when I ask what stuff is - hope to one day be able to read most of this stuff. I do know my Oaks, Black Locus, Mulberry and Cherry's but couldn't pick a elm from a sugar maple  - again thanks for all your comments.
