What is the diameter of the large pieces of wood that you like to use for this stove? I am hoping to talk wife into upgrading this year to the Fireview. Most of my wood is 16" - 18" length. Working on splitting for 2009 - 2010 and was wondering what Diameter for the long burns. Thanks in advance.

Due to the smallish loading door I don't like anything over 6" diameter. Most of my splits are around 4". When I reload, I rake the coals forward towards the glass, insert the largest splits and rounds towards the back, then put smaller stuff on top.

What stove do you have now?

I agree with Todd.
