I saw it yesterday. It almost looks like the top vent exit is oval vs round.

Everytime I look at the page I want a soapstone masonry heater :-)

I wish they would post some SPECS! Who cares about the looks at this point, especially about floral leafy thingies? I want to know the important stuff: BTU's, Firebox size, Weight and cost!

Looks like a teaser post to keep us interested, but I really wish they would give more TECHNICAL DETAIL! Are you listening, Dear Mr. Woodstock guys??

Reminds me of my wife when someone tells her they bought a new truck. She asks what color, I ask what Engine. :-S

Looks like they posted another update but no info yet on when it will be ready.

Todd, right now they are looking at sometime this summer. They are still waiting to finalize the cast parts and are working on the manual. It still has to go out for testing too if I remember right. Sad they could not meet the March deadline but we know these things happen a lot with many companies. They are saying this summer and I hope for their sake it is before September as some folks are already waiting.

Id be interested to see what it is but it sure is BIG. Should put outs a lot of heat for a long time.

A couple of weekends ago i stopped by the showroom in NH to have a look as im really considering a soapstone. Got to see the new stove, and the masonry heater. Damn i wish i had somewheres to put that masonry heater. It was a thing of beauty for sure.

Did they give you any specs on the new stove?

The only specs i got was "when they run it, it gets wicked hot in here". Said that for both the dev stove and the masonry heater.

Its new hampshire. Were not real scientific in these parts. The prototype pretty much still looks like it did in the early blog entry with all the sensor wires and probes.

Not that big, you're princess is nearly the same. Surely at this point since they are getting all artsy fartsy they must know the real specs. Not the EPA test specs but things like weight, firebox, and maybe clearances. I'm hoping for reasonable clearances more than anything.

Just like everybody else, they release little bits to freeze sales of the competition in anticipation. Woodcrosoft?

I would be surprised if the clearances were much different than the fireview. I was amazed at just how much soapstone they use to build these things. Theres stone inside and out with an airgap inbetween. I would guess the new stove will be similar in that respect. I guess we have to wait and see.

Although they have not stated so, I would not be surprised if they don't use the 2-layer stone on this one.

Once again, they are waiting on the cast before anything can be built. I also think they can send an unfinished stove for the epa check.
