Did enjoy one ball game. Had a seat on the ground right behind home plate at a Ranger's game. Now that was a view of a baseball game. Had the same privilege behind the net at a Capitals hockey game. Both a whole nother way to watch those sports.
Up in the stands at either I used to work crossword puzzles and be the beer runner. Jealous really. Wish I enjoyed them as much as others do.
well, my beloved yankees lost out to the tigers in the ALCS, but im still watchin the series, giants looked impressive last night, hanging a loss on verlander makes it even more impressive. all in all though should be a great series, not picking a team to "root for" i just hope its a good series that the team that deserves to win does, and above all else nobody gets hurt.
Pablo "Kung Fu Panda" Sandoval just doesn't have the right ring to it. Gimme Mickey "The Commerce Comet" Mantle, or Joe "The Yankee Clipper" Dimaggio or Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown...I may watch the first couple of innings, but have no vested interest as I'm also a Yankees fan, so I'll hafta wait to see if Championship #28 comes next year...
never was a cubbies fan, didnt hate on em or anything, but i do have to say harry carey was a national treasure in as far as baseball is concerned. it pained me greatly when he passed away
Now that it's coming back to the D lets hope we can get a little something going to make it interesting anyway. I'd love for them to win but will be content(not happy) if they make it a series. The odds sure aren't on our side after dropping the first 2. I have game 5 tickets so I hope they can manage to win 1 for me. They haven't hit left handed pitching good all season so lets hope they swing the bats better against the righties, it can't get any worse...or can it?
I don't have a dog in the fight (although I did grow up across the bay from SF), but I really like watching a well-played, hard-fought, clean, honest, 7-game series with no serious injuries. I will readily admit that I don't follow baseball throughout the season (like my mother did) but when the series comes around, I'm paying attention and watching (usually) some really classy baseball. I wish everyone involved the best of luck, and may the best team win (but not too easily ) Rick
