I am moving my piles around and noticed some yellow dust on the lower logs in one pile. Any ideas on what that might be? It was on some of the logs when I got the wood but I dusted it off and now it seems like there is more?!?

Just something like a borer or ants that took up residence in the log and are eating themselves into oblivion!

Pollen? Frass from bugs chewing on your wood? Wood fairy dust?

I don't think it's pollen. But wood fairy dust is a great probability! She doesn't leave wood, just dust huh? I don't like the wood pile fairy.

Likely to be some boring insects, I get dust in a lot of my wood stacks. There are usually some small holes in the wood directly above where the dust is found.

Whatever critter it is, it burns just fine and didnt seem to hurt my catalyst last year.
