Was at a co-workers house yesterday, and there were a half dozen chunks of this across the street. It wasn't much, and normally I wouldn't grab such a small amount, but it was really dry, really light and ... well it was just new to me. Figured at worst it would be good for kindling, or for a firepit fire.

My co-worker thought it was arborvitae. Thoughts?

Appears to be some type of cedar/juniper species(bark tearing), never cut any arborvitae that large to confirm.

I see a little red streaking in there. It could be box elder. It gets very light when dry.
