Have been burning wood my whole life. I have cut as I needed it. Only cut dead standing wood. Due to your vast knowledge, I built a wood shed last year. I burned properly seasoned wood this year. The first time ever. Granted this year has been wacky, I am one whole cord ahead of normal. The heat is hotter, coals last longer and flue is better. Just wanted to say thanks.

I feel so warm and fuzzy now()
Whoops, did I have anything to do with it?
Welcome to the forum.

I don't know about everyone else, but I feel pretty special right about now. ;)

On the serious side, a very nice first post. Welcome to hearth.com.

Great bunch of guys here that love to share there knowledge.

Sticky this thread as the ultimate testimonial to truly seasoned wood. This is where I learned and researched my stove use. So glad I found this site before I installed my first stove.

I feel the same way. I would have taken little care in my first year to get years ahead if it was not for the advice on this forum.
This year I burned some 6 month old hardwoods, but it will not happen next year.

Troll!
(Just kidding, just kidding - tis joke ;lol)

Hey - thats what this place is all about. People helping people to burn stuff to make heat.
