Dirty Dave...is this YOUR stove (it keeps giving us a "missed ignition" error")? Or are we now fixing peoples stove issues that didn't even come onto the forum?
No it is not my stove. I listed the link and said I think they need your folks help. I sent them the link for the Forums here.
the knowledge base here is great, and yes I know you can lead an idiot to the table but you cant make him eat.
Okay, stop giving him a hard time. The most likely problem is a burned out igniter. This is especially true if it has the old design igniter with black leads. The new design is made with white leads (according to my service tech). The Igniter is just above the ash pan. You should be able to see it glow during start up. I remember reading somewhere that it is only active for 90 seconds.
That is right including the ever loving flame height and speaking of that ever smart do hickey, there can be cross talk issues in the wiring which makes the stove rather temperamental. Ain't that smart stuff just wonderful?
You're right, I mis-read that. What I read is, "IGNITER TURNS ON FOR 90 SECONDS BEFORE FEED CHARGE STARTS". The igniter is on for a minimum of 5 1/2 minutes for softwood pellets.

Black lead igniter is the newest one, 300 watt. This one is made for people burning straight wood pellets. White lead igniter is 380 watt and made to light corn and other fuels. The idea is that the 300 watt with latest programming will lengthen igniter life.
