Feeling the Heat

Just unplugged the exhaust, plugged in the stove and fired it up for the heck of it. It's 60 something and raining so I figured why not? Little smoke smell in the room so I'll have to track that down but we are ready to go.

Down in the 40's at nite here. Lit the Quad tonite to take the chill off the living room.

Turned ours off yesterday.

Supposed to be down in the 40's here this evening. WHAT???? Anyway I also refuse to throw some heat until January if I can........ Never get that lucky. I will hold firm on the house stat MUST stay above 59* before ANY heat goes on with my wife. Right now it reads 68* so I am covered.

Between the cold witch residing here (Lovely wife) that likes it 76 damn degrees inside when it's single digits outside and you heat freaks here I'll admit I am thinking about firing the P68 for the fun of it tonight because last night I did put sweat pants and a long sleeve T-shirt on. DAMMIT!

You all SUCK! Bunch of HEAT PIMPS AND HOES.;);)==c>> Ya'll are not helping me out much. Maybe some new broom shopping distraction will squeak me thru.

Maybe I'll justify it as a "TEST FIRE" just to check the systems out for a go ;);) tonight. That will come back on me though opening that can of worms. She'll be like, " We'll last year remember when you fired it up in the beginning of Sept." I can hear that one already..........:ZZZ:ZZZ

That or I need a combined effort from all of my Northern friends here to swivel their fans 180*'s and keep that crisp cool air back up that way. It must be a curse you and the witch have worked out. KY was once a warmer state on average until I joined up here.

What's up with that?:confused::(

LOL - If you fire it up, the wife's gonna own ya... Yeah, "test fire", sure... Better call it a "maintenance burn" .. go ahead, you know you want to. :)

I replaced my stove last month..... can't wait to fire it up. I don't think anyone in my house knows how bad I want to try this puppy out. 59 out yesterday morning and the wife was at work. I was close, but had errands to run and couldn't hang out long enough for a test run. Soon enough I will be crying about the cold, I work nights on a dock!

Just do it!!! You are amongst friends and not alone!

I didn't do it! Stat temp came up 2 degrees. Thermal mass and sunshine. Tank ya Tank ya! Honestly thought I'd see 66* this eve and possibly 64* in the early AM. Not ah happening. Saaweet!

Getting close for the broom flier though. I get reminded daily. Soon enough it will be hourly, then down to the minute. Doesn't she have better things to do? Last fall I sprung for a new broom and it STILL looks like a low mileage ride...... SERIOUSLY? Besides I can and will stick to the "once it hits 59* " THEN I will kick something on. Kiss my a$$ until then HONEY.

C' MON December! I will roll the dice. Betting on Indian Summer once again but that will burn my azz.....

52 here now, window fan/ceiling fans on, windows are open and it's 70 in my house right now

I test fired my 25-PDVC yesterday. I had replaced all the gaskets and wanted to make sure no leaks. Not going to lie, loved seeing that fire in there, but not ready to run it yet. House hasn't dipped below 70 yet.

well hello, pellet mill. it's getting close to heating season once again.
we don't need the heat yet, but i unplugged the vent and the OAK and have done a few short test runs to get everything set.
burning for a few minutes right now just to keep everything dry.

The stat must stay ABOVE 59*? Okay, so that means a fire almost anytime - LOL

Hey, it's the middle of September already.

We're back into yet another heat wave around here, with peaks forecasts in the 80 degrees range up till the week-end.
