Been -6 and haven't pushed her over 450 yet.Except when i was trying her out and that hasn't been over 675.That was roasting in here.Around 100,opened windows.

All depends on house size, insulation, etc.

I don't really pay attention to my stove temp, once I have a fire going I shut the air down. I would say the stove top runs around 400 once it's into it's burn. I don't really notice outside temps other than when it warms up and the sun is out then I have to watch how much wood I put in the stove.

Kind of weird that I can heat the house on 3-3.5 cords of wood but when I ran just the floor heat a few years ago I burned about $1000 of natural gas.

It works out to around 127,500,000 BTUs of heat in Nat Gas. 3.5 cords of wood is around 80,000,000 BTUs... I don't know how that works out??

I read this alot on here how people have temps in the 70's in their living space with a stove at such a cool temp. My stove almost never goes below 500 unless we aren't home or in bed and its nearing the end of its burn cycle. With the stove at 750 most of the time I rarley see room temps above 68 even when the outside temp is in the 30s. When it gets in the teens we are really pushing the stove hard just to keep the 1st floor 60 degrees. Only warm place is right next to the stove, 10 feet away I doubt its 70.

3 loads of wood over the last 24 hours, and I overdid it a bit with outside temps now in the mid 20's. Upstairs, its
76. Downstairs, I'm sweating. It really has to get below zero before my primary stove would need to be pushed.
Instead of pushing it, I light up the small insert upstairs.

Fortunately, if I close the door to our downstairs bedroom, it will cool off into the 60's so I can get some sleep tonight.

wow guys
guess i should have checked back sooner on the replies
