Started a small (200 degree) fire to test the new top out. Noticed that I can still see flames at the front of the stove where the top plate meets the front plate. I am now at a loss as to where to go next.

Wife is going to shoot me I think.....but at least I know it is deserved.

That is odd. The side seams get caulked, but the top is gasketed. Can you show us with a picture? Take the top back off and put a straight-edge across the front and side top edges to make sure they are true.

If the center piece in the top is warped, coul this be pulling the center of the top plate up? I think I am going to try removing all the bolts once the stove cools and will also check the top edges.

Remi - I thought the top was new? No? Any chance there is an obstruction somewhere along the top inside edge that isn't allow the top to seat correctly? Cheers!

That was my thought. It happened to me the first time I took the top off of the F3CB. I had it in place slightly ajar. This was easy to see on a side view. The line of the top didn't quite match the lines of the body.

So, let the stove cool and took the top off again. Put a level to each side and all seem to be ok. Loosened the bolts on the center piece (the one with the clamshell) and put the top back on sans bolts this time. Lit a fire and got her up around 350 or so and sat and stared at the spot where I was seeing the flames pass. Caught a brief glimpse of the flames, readjusted the top and it seems to be better. I will have to see what happens when I get her going full bore.

There is definitely a high spot on the top plate right in the center front, similar to the old top plate. Anyone else with the F600 who may be seeing this please chime in. Letting the current fire die right now so I don't smoke the family out of the house right before bedtime as the new paint cures.

I am hopeful, a bit unoptimistic, but hopeful.
