It looks impressive. And the firebox is a good size.

It's been a few months, could someone post an update on this Madison for me? I'm thinking about going with this stove over the Englander 13, but it concerns me I can't find diddly on it on the web (however I did find the manual).
Any pros and cons?

Oh the reason I'm thinking about going with this stove is because of the hearth requirements and the shape of the stove (fits better where I need to put it)

Tx for the heads up Grisu. I've read both of those, only one being as current as sometime in January. Was hoping there'd be more reviews on this since it's late late winter. For some reason that's making me quite leery of this stove ...dunno. I wonder if it's because no ones digging the aas system of the stove ...again, dunno.

People are finding deals on the 30NC and 13NC right now at HD and Lowes. Not sure if you will be able to find the Madison going on sale.

The AAS is the worst part about the stove. I bought mine from AMFM, for around the price that is linked in the thread already, and I think it's the best 'bang for the buck' stove you're going to find with this size firebox. The AAS not working is not a big deal to me, as I just operate it as a normal (non-AAS) wood stove. I bought it because it has the ideal firebox size (non-cat) for my house, the price point, the ember protection only hearth requirement, and because I think it's a pretty good looking stove. Note: this stove, along with all EPA stoves, does require/work best with really dry wood.. Even under 20%, I still have to leave the door cracked for around 5-10 mins to get the wood going before I close the door. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. It gives me awesome burn times for a non-cat stove, and has literally saved me thousands in propane bills this winter. This stove was in my price point, and is a deal for sure. Are there better stoves and would I want a different one? Yes, but only a cat stove, and those are substantially more $. If you're looking for this size stove, on a budget, I'd recommend the Madison. To Mike K, if you're in SouthEast MI and would like to see it in person, that could probably be arranged, just PM me.

To be clear, I have no connection to ESW, and in fact, have had a mixed bag regarding their customer service. Overall though according to reviews here, they try to take care of things for customers, maybe they just are still working on the AAS, so I haven't heard much regarding that. The only other issue I'm having is a little paint peel, probably a little dirt or grease left on during paint prep. Neither are big deals to me, and not worth my time to try to get fixed through them. I'm just providing my honest review of this new stove, and welcome any questions. I will also try to update my thread when I have some extra time, probably after burn season is completed.

Great data RopeS ...that's all I needed was a good opinion. I talked to the wife and I'll probably pull the trigger on it here soon. I'd like to at least see a couple burns from it yet this cold season ...not that I'm wishing on extending winter ...lol ...I'll post info and pics when I get up and running. Tx again
