What is ALB? Is this new? just started dealing with EAB, really, another one.

Asian longhorn beetle. We have been dealing with it here for 2-3 years now I think. They disgard the maple tree or infested dead ash tree (from EAB) and run it through a massive chipper at a site they have setup. Chipper is suppose to kill bug. Then a local mulch company hauls it off and sells it to the public.

Apologies to the OP again. Tyler, you have my empathy. And Bethel is close enough to Dayton we may as well already call it too late. I hope to hell you guys get all the resources you need and get that thing eradicated, but that's wishful thinking.

To the OP, if you DO observe ALB in your stacks, imidacloprid is listed as a preferred insecticide.

Here's a list of host trees. http://www.uvm.edu/albeetle/hosts.htm Oh boy, Ailanthus and Cottonwoods are not good hosts... SMH.

Late to the party here and I am just south of Bethel, OH also. I just restacked my 3 cords up near the house and damn near every single split has a blue mark on it meaning the foresters have checked it for ALB, they had to have completely unstacked then restacked my wood last summer (didn't do a half bad job either). Lost about 20 trees last year to the tubgrinder on 232 and expect more when they come back around. I've had no issue with the g-men, they've always been real good about asking permission and keeping things above board on my place. Maybe that's because I left them a cooler full of water and a few oat sodas in the driveway when they were at my place though. Also, I only have 8 acres and what I've gone through is nothing like the folks who are getting essentially clear cut.
