Pellet pile up

Hey LuAnn, and welcome to the site.

I have the same stove. I am also running on a stat, and right now I am 1st yellow light on heat setting, and on the line to the right of the #2 on the air restrictor.....no problems with pellets building up (burning NEWP right now).

How often do you check your burn pot ?

also, what brand pellets are you burning? What year is your stove?

As far as adjusting the air, I do just what the owners manual says.....open it just enough that the fire is active, but the burning pellets are not "jumping" out of the burn pot.

Glad to hear you got the pellet piling issue fixed. The Travis stoves we have a pretty simple to operate. Now that you have it running decent, try moving the air control a little.....more air if you go to a higher heat setting, and vice-versa for lower heat setting.

Personally, I have only had my air control between 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 for any heat setting, but again, pay attention to the pellets...just enough air so they move a little in the burn pot, but whole burning pellets are NOT jumping out.

Since I opened my air flow to 2 the stove has not piled up and seems to be burning much better.

those are the pellets I burn. Best one I found around here..

I also have an Avalon Astoria and run with the air set between 2 and 3.
