Just Curious - what pellet stove manufacturer has the best warranty?

Lopi has a 7 year warranty, I believe. Haven't actually read mine yet, but I think that's right. First 2 years includes labor.

Travis Industries (Lopi & Avalon) does have a 7 year Limited warranty. Parts & labor are included for the first 5 years, but after year 2, not as many parts are covered.

Years 6 & 7 are parts only, but only include the firebox assembly and door assembly.
 
There are a lot of good warranties out there. I would look for a Dealer that stocks parts and knows how to work on the stoves. If you have a 5 yr warranty on a stove but the Dealer has to order every part you will be without a stove for 4-10 days maybe longer.

Agree with Eric of kinsman Stoves.

The warranty of a pellet stove should be balanced against your needs and abilities, the manufacturers' reputation, and the options for dealer backing in your geographic location.

Are you a "do it yourselfer" with basic mechanical and electrical knowledge ?

Can you accept having the stove down for days at a time in the event of a parts failure? Pellet stoves are complex appliances.

If the above is true, the warranty may be less important than other considerations.

If you are not comfortable doing the installation and possible future repairs yourself, I would suggest starting with the best stove shops in your area and ask many questions about warranty, features, and service after the sale.

You can always ask for references and a Dealer should have a long list of them. I give pellets in return for any customer that gives reference or helps on a new sale. Snitching does pay off.

Your dealer is much more important than any warranty... or brand of stove for that matter. A warranty is no good if your dealer can't, or won't, fix any problems.

That is why I keep oil in my tank, you never know when it will quit. You can call just about anyone 24-7 for a oil furnace problem, just try the with a pellet stove.
 
After years of selling and servicing pellet stoves I'd have to say that electrical warranty and labor warranty are the most important aspects of a pellet stove warranty and Harman has the longest. Travis warranty is awesome, Whitfields was great too because unlike most companies their replacement electrical components were warrantied for two years parts and labor. Alot of companies only warranty replacement electrical components for 90 days.

I bought a Breckwell bigE from a local dealer, My stove had issues from day one. My dealer did nothing except charge me for a cleaning I could do myself. So I called the next nearest guy and actually got great service. Fixed all my issue's (that I was ready to fix myself after 2 years) and Now my stove is better than it was new!

I never asked about servive I was just looking for the best price, Next time I'll now better.

I've gotta tell you I shopped around for a good price. But I kept coming back to one dealer. I wound up buying a used stove from them... but they had ANSWERS when I asked questions...the other guys had DUMB LOOKS or really stupid answers.

The dealer makes all the difference... kinda like when buying a car. The best price isn't always the cheapest.

Limited Lifetime Warranty:
Under this warranty, Hudson River Stove Works covers the body of the stove including all exterior metals. This warranty covers: Firebox, Heat Exchanger, Pedestals, Legs, and Door Assembly.

Limited Two Year Warranty:
Under this warranty, Hudson River Stove Works covers electrical components against defects in materials and workmanship for part repair and replacement for the first two years and labor for the first year only to the original purchaser. (Glass and all gaskets are not included under any part of this warranty.)
There is no written or implied performance warranty on the stove, as the manufacturer has no control over the installation, daily operations, maintenance or the type of fuel burner.
This warranty does will not apply if the stove has not been installed, operated and maintained in strict accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
This warranty does not cover damage or breakage due to misuse, improper handling or modifications.
All Claims under this warranty must be made through the dealer in which the stove was originally purchased from. If an inspection by the dealer indicated that a warranty claim is justified, and that all conditions of this warranty have been met, the manufacturer's total responsibilities and liabilities shall be to repair or replace the defective part(s). All costs of removal, shipment to and from the dealer of manufacturer, any losses during shipment and reinstallation and any other losses due to the stove being removed shall be covered by the owner of the stove.

I found out Magnum stoves are a limited warranty, 1 year electronic 5 year on other parts that don't ware. Stir rod bushings auger no warranty. NO WARRANTY ON LABOR! I will never make a another high end purchase without asking what the warranty includes first!
