I am going to install my chimney liner this weekend and have "1 last question" (famous last words of the DIY-er)
My planned set up is to use 3 - 3 foot sections of double wall (6") out the chimney and then transitions to 6" flex to get thru the origianal chimney damper and make the move over to the stove.
My question is how do I secuere the 6" double wall to the top of the chimney. This stuff is rather heavy and I'm a little concerned abt it just "hanging" up there. I am not extending out the roof or have any additional support. I'm just lining my exsting masonry chimney of abt 12 feet from connection of stove to the exit of the chimney. Is there a special top plate designed for these or do they just set down on the storm collar?
Any suggestions (and hopefully a picture) is greatly appreciated.
