Merry Christmas to all my pellet head friends! Just curious if anyone got pellets, scoops, motors, storage units, etc, etc??? Maybe a new stove????

well....after being layed off for a year and finally getting back to work, i have been buying just enough pellets to get me to the next un-enjoyment check.

i just returned to work 3 weeks ago ,and went to the nite shift for the extra money. getting ready for a christmas for my kids left us with again, just getting enough pellets to hold us for a week.

yesterday morning, about 8 a.m. my daughter came to my bedroom and woke me up with " dad, there is a man at the door , and he has a big truck. he asked for you , and said he had a delivery for you."

so, i get out of bed and dress real quick and go out. the man says he has a delivery of pellets for me, and wants to know where to put them. i say " hold on...i didnt order or pay for any pellet, where did these come from?" the man handed me a delivery reciept, and said he was instructed to say nothing more than Merry Christmas!

i am not ashamed to say that i sat on my step and broke down in tears...there was 3 tons of pellets(Corinth) on the truck , and they were all to be dropped at my house...none of my friends or family will admit to knowing anything about this , sooo...thank you Santa, whoever you are...you made my christmas

mike (edit) merry christmas to all on hearth.com and a happy new year to each and every one of you!

no pellet presents for me but I am super impressed he was still able to get down that 3" vent pipe, musta been awefully hot once he made it inside the stove. He at least could have cleaned out the ashes on his way out!

mjbrown65, whoa that's a great present, hope those pellets were not the ones I took back oh and I might let the wifey use the laptop.

HIB,
probably not at this end of the states...i have been burning them for a while now and they seem to do very well in my stove. yes, there is alot of ash, alot like the mwp's, but the heat is very good and it doesnt bother me to shut down on sundays and clean'r out.

merry christmas to you and yours

stan,

it started out a little on the soggy side, but yes a whole lot warmer.no idea where they came from or whom, but it kind of makes me glad that someone out there thinks of helping others in need as i do. the whole time i was out of work, i would give my time to help those in my neighborhood when they needed help...when they would ask how much i wanted for my help, i would reply " just pay it forward..help someone who needs help and ask nothing in return". this country needs to move backwards a bit, and return to this way of thinking. it worked for many years , before greed to hold.

I got a 2.5 gallon Chi-Com shop vac to replace the one that was stolen from my shop for stove duty...

Mike... I can relate to your plight. I haven't worked steady since August and my bride has been jobless for almost 3 years... glad to see Santa got your letter... Merry Christmas.

Hey Mike

That is great and is what the spirit of the holiday really is. Giving anonymously to others. If anyone out here has not tried it, do so if you can. You get back more than you give in many ways. Does not have to be 3 tons of pellets. Could just be paying the toll for the person behind you. You never know if someone just needs a boost to their spirit at that moment.

Merry Christmas to all

Geno

ps, I got a corner fan and a vent pipe cleaner :)

Mike that is an awesome anonymous gift but the giver
should have owned up so you could at least thank them
since it's gonna bug the crap out of you.

As for the topic at hand. This Christmas was all about giving for me.
I got an iPod Touch that I bought for myself - no complaints
it's all I wanted and am having fun with it. I got enjoyment from
giving a few gifts to others this year. Peace and warmth to everyone on here.

12/26 edit: the owners of the XL Forum sent me $ this morning (I'm an Administrator on that forum)
and also today $ arrived in the mail from my cousin in Virginia.

Happy for ya Mike.. Job and Pellets :)

I got an antique fire extinguisher to hang by the stove :) will give it a nice touch now to hang it!

Hey Mike-Ive read alot of your posts and am familar with your situation&outside; lookin in-it doesnt seem like it could have happened to a better person!Stay warm&MerryChristmas;!

Mike,

Your story made my day!! So nice when good things happen to good people.

Thanks for sharing.

Also, very happy to hear that you are back to work. The end of 2008 and 2009 has been horrific for too many people who have been adversely affected financially through no fault of their own and by events over which they have no control.

Regards,

Ranger

Mike....That is awesome. Your story is what Christmas is all about. I would have had tears too.

Oh, my Love-Less showed up yesterday :)

Chan

Mike, this brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful way to help another. Good things are coming back to you because it sounds like you have given so much of yourself. This just reaffirms that there are indeed angels here on earth. I truly believe this.

Our surprise this year was my Mom got us a smoker. Hubby can't wait to try this baby! Chowing on fresh, smoked meat (or fish, or pork, etc.) by the pellet stove on a cold, snowy winter's day...YUMMMMM!!!

I hope everyone on Hearth.com had a wonderful, peaceful Christmas.

Lori :)

I didn't get anything pellet related but I got my father a Magic Heat to collect the waste heat in the exhaust pipe. Also got him a new auger motor for his shed stove.

Mike, Glad to hear you are back working again. That is one touching story. Maybe there really is a Santa somewhere?

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with lots of cheer!

I got a pair of fireplace gloves. Does that count?

I found an old cast iron kettle at a junk antique shop just a few days before Christmas.....sanded it down and painted it up to match the stove..put a bow on it and voila! a Christmas present for my wife...pics attached!!
