I think it says a great deal about a company, especially a small one, when it provides an uncensored forum on its site. Users and potential buyers can communicate...it is a sure sign of a quality company that believes in its product! I was pleased to see that GARN had such a forum. But now it is gone....? Does anyone know if this will return or if I'm just missing it someplace?

I just bought a 1500 and I was looking forward to some feedback/help in getting it installed and up and running.

Thanks,
Bruce

Garn is re-doing their web site as we speak. I do know they are getting on Facebook.

Interestingly enough, they mentioned to me that they so respected the dialog here (on Hearth.com) that they intended to link to THIS forum.

I think they see the strength in numbers - that is, there is a lot of talent and information on general subjects (as well as Garn) here, so they may have felt it was just a PITA to have their own.

BTW, they are now proud sponsors of Hearth.com also......another feather in their cap if I say so myself. :cheese:

I had written to GARN directly as well. Indeed, they have removed the forum from their site. It was indeed mentioned that they hope folks will use this forum in its place. The word "misinformation" was used, and that they would prefer people to contact GARN directly, or their local dealers, for the correct information. And of course, this site.

Thanks!

There was very little traffic on their forum. I remember no misinformation, Garn were in ideal position to correct anything anyway.

It would have been nice if they told people who had registered what they had done and why.

For every interest you can think of, you can find a discussion forum. This one is, by far, the best I have ever seen. Every question is answered respectfully, no matter how obvious or obscure the answer may be. I've seen plenty of other forums that have a core group who knows everything, and treat everyone else like they are idiots. I've never seen that happen here.
With the wealth of knowledge available, I think every manufacturer that puts out a quality product should refer their customers here.

I bought and installed a Garn 2000 last year. The reason I bought a Garn is because of the things I have read on this forum. All questions I had before the purchase and during the installtion were answered very timely and completely. This forum has lots of good people with good ideas that share them so you can make a well informed decision. Thanks again to all that helped me last year and I hope I can share things I learned while installing and operating the Garn.

If it's any consolation, I didn't know anything other than the fact that they were putting up a new website. I assumed the forum would be a part of it but I guess not. Personally, I think we can get along just fine here.
