Hi All,
Newbe Here,
Any idea of cost for having a wood stove insert installed? I have visited quite a few local stove shops in the area and all have been around $1000 for the installation. That includes materials and labor. I have ruled out some of the stores due to they came off not knowing too much, not too interested in answering my questions. I had an appointement with one of my top choice stores to come out for a survey of my home (his request not mine) to see what would be the best fit and he completly blew me off, no phone call no show. And of course he was the best price but he just lost my business. I visited a shop today and their installation cost are closer to $1750 but I got a very good feeling with them. Apparently they use a much better pipe more rugged and safer (Ventinox), fully insulate all gaps just do a much better job then other stores. Cost of the stove is average with other shops. My top choice is Enviro 1700V $2099. I'm not sure if its ok to mention the store names on this forum?
Thanks for any help.

I was going to say 4 grand. Just because the person behind the counter doesn't hard sell you don't think you can't get a good install from the people they send to your house. My stove was $2300, liner + insulating was about $700, but I have to count everything including wood, wood shed, chainsaw, and everything else so I got away with about $4 grand because I did it myself.

My insert was installed by a prof sweep for $1300 which included the liner and the assembly of the surround. Where are you in MA?

I paid between 1200 - 1300 for ss liner plus chimney cap plus blockoff plate, installation included. Not in your area of the country, though.

Sorry I forgot to mention my location. Dartmouth Ma. Anyone from the area that could recommend a good local stove shop? Any thoughts on the enviro wood insert?
Thanks again.

I'm from the Worcester area and the place I went to was a bit further north of me so probably not an option for you. However, just to get a feel for prices, I was quoted $1500 for a 25 ft liner kit and install (not insulated). Total install cost ended up being closer to $2000 because I have a 30 ft chimney (extra liner) and they needed to rent a lift to access it.

Wasn't super excited about the install cost but they were the only relatively close stove place that sold the Lopi Declaration.

Good luck!

I paid $1800 for my installation, which included labor, a lifetime guaranteed liner with insulation. You will also have to get your chimney swept before the install and that is usually not included in the install.
