I also burned 2 tons 2yrs ago. I got great heat, but couldn't handle the dust and fines. That may be because I bought them from Sam's. $269 seems really high. I got them for $244/ton when there was no supply huge demand.hossthehermit said:sydsdad said:They have these at local Home depot for 269 a ton,I bought 2 bags to try .ty rmw
Burned 2 ton 2 years ago, my first year. Seemed fine to me. Price seems kinda high for what I've seen and heard this year, though.

So why not get a few bags and try them?

schoondog said:I bought 2 tons last year, very average pellet at best. I got them for $200 a ton, only reason I bought them. If you have a multi fuel and can get em cheap, try a few bags and see what you find. If your stove is finicky might best stay away.

Way too many fines, I shook each bag so the fines settled to the bottom, poured in all but the bottom, Once every few weeks I would sift the fines thru a strainer. Pain in the neck. But on the up side, I contacted Peeningtons to complain and they sent me a check for all 3 tons. Became a cheap season.
