We just started up our fireplace and the blower is noisier than expected. Does anybody else with this fireplace find the blower noisy? Are there any suggestions for quieting it other than pulling the plug or installing a rheostat (we have one on order)?

Is it a vibration, squeal or rattle? Or is it wind noise? If it's wind noise check to make sure the impellers are balanced. YOu can also see if it has metal or plastic impellers. If metal inquire to your dealer about the possibility of plastic ones. They put plastic impellers on the old Earthstove inserts to quiet the noise. They did offer a metal impeller, the plastic ones and all the wiring melted quite quickly if there was a power outage and the blowers could no longer run. If it's vibration squeal or rattle call you dealer he should remedy that situation for you.

Shane, you asked some good questions. It is partly vibration and partly wind noise. I will check into plastic impellers. Thanks for the suggestions.
