Thanks for the info. That must be why the Hamers burn so hot. I talked to the lady at BT and she said they were mostly oak and gave me their website. I checked it out and read that Hamers from the Elkin plant were mostly oak which is where they buy from and the other plant is just mixed hardwoods. I will have to go back to BT $270 is not bad with the heat they produce. Again thanks for sharing your findings it is most helpful.
Anytime, Us fellow pellet heads need to stick together! If you find any deals PLEASE share with us.
Do you know where I can get Turman around here to try out ? The only website I find it on is CT pellet but the website does not appear to have changed since the spring sale. Are they still aound. I emailed them a couple of times and never received a response.

Thanks Jay I will give them a call on Mon. I saw your review but did not recall if you had Hamer and Turman on it.
CWR said:Jay, again thanks for the continued testing! I have now tried several bags of the Cubex and they have the least ash and have burned the hottest. I consistantly had temps close to 300 degrees. Oakies came in a close second at 270 degrees. My mission now is to find Cubex at a reasonable price. Dodges Agway in Hampton Falls, NH has them but for $330 a ton!

Do you have any Turmans near you? I have good luck with them. Not quite as hot but still a darn good pellet.
Hey can someone post something in the new test thread to give it a bump? I can't post in it something to do with the site software.

Hmmmm...Don't know. I'll check with them and see if they have a dealer locator. I'll go hit your test thread right now.

Would you say from all of your findings that the Turmans are hotter and cleaner than softwood? I have been reading some good reviews on the Rocky Mountain and they are only a couple dollars more. Definetly worth dealing with a company I can get in touch with and they are open 6 days a week.
