The bypass damper in our Country Comfort cc325 insert is stuck shut. No service in my area. Any suggests on getting it open? Insert is 24 years old. Wonderful stove.
Thank you.

Stuck open or shut? Topic says open. Guessing you mean shut on both, if it has not been used lately could rain have gotten in and rusted it? Can you spray some wd40 in where the damper rod is?

Sorry, stuck shut. We have been using it for over a month but, we do have a issue with rain when the wind is very strong and from a certain direction, we will get rain down the chimney. You can see rust on the damper control rod. I wasn't sure if it was safe to spray wd40 in the damper rod shaft.

Spray and get her working. You should address the rain problem also.
