What kind of oak is that? I have a seedling started in my yard with leaves exactly like that. I want to transplant it to my sister's 7 acres.

OB

Looks like Red Oak.
I find Picasa to be really user friendly and fast for formatting pictures.

In my yard the Black Oaks hold their leaves longer than the red. I guess it is Black Oak.

Irfanview is a good free program.

Seconded. Open the file, CTRL+R(esize), pick your new size, Enter, CTRL+S(ave), put the reduced one where you want it, and you're good. You can also get a plugin that gives you way more reduction options, but more importantly, can remove most (all?) original metadata, if you're concerned about that. ESC also closes the program - I love that.

The tree looks like it has potential from the tip though.

Or you can simply use Paint, a free program that comes with the computer.

Ok Try this again

Ok now go cut down a big one-- nice Tree

Now that's a nice size tree. Nice work!! Did you trim the top branches before dropping it ?

OK, so you were just messin with us with the first picture and the title. Not bad. :smirk:

Good thing it was little.
Your saw is looking proud :)
Dog is thinking "my shade tree is gone" ;)
Stump removal may be a little tougher.
Looks like it was gonna come down in a few years anyway, good job!
Great pictures

Gadzooks!!

A few more pics. The elec. company droped it for me. I could have droped it with my 18" bar if I knew it was that hollow.
They cut limbs off the one side and had the wind in there favor. They also dropped the cottenwood for me free of charge.

At least it'll be real easy to split! That should keep you going for a little while at least.

Gotta be a White, right?

How long is that bar on the saw in the picture.

See post #13

Nice supply of wood there.

And I reckon the best way to fell a tree is to get the electric company to do it for you....... ;-)
