Hoping someone can share their experience with it how it burn, how much heat does it put out and experience with the catalyst. I am looking at getting one , never had a catalytic in the past. Thanks for feedback

I have no experience with the stove. I know it's a big stove, but I can not speak to its specific performance. I've run three cat stoves so far. I like them, but they fit my needs, which makes my opinion biased.

That being said, it is really hard to nail down the performance of the Buck stoves as there aren't a lot of modern Buck stove owners on this forum for some reason. There are a few here that run them. Most seem quite happy with them. Best I can tell from the reports here, it looks like the Buck 91 will give about a 12 hour burn (can not find the thread that states that). Some feel that the 4.4 cu ft firebox is a bit smaller than it claims to be, which isn't a surprise as many stove manufacturers fudge a little on the usable size of the firebox.

Where are you located?
How many square feet do you need to heat?
How drafty is the house?
What type of layout is the house?

I post here occasionally, though not about the 91. The 80 seems to be pretty similar, just smaller. It was the only cat stove I could find that would fit into our corner fireplace w/o having surround panels.

The main con with the 80 and the 91 is the catalyst is a chore to access. Four cotter pins and four nuts (more on the 91) need to be removed to drop the housing containing the cat. Those nuts can cause grief, since they are inside the firebox.

I was also interested in Buck catalytic stoves, and started a thread about them (just last month), as well as PM'd several forum members who own Buck stoves. I don't think ever succeeded in tracking down the owner of one of their cat stoves, although there are a few active members who own Buck non-cat's.

Maybe you can be our first! I don't think the fact that few members have them in any way indicates they're a bad stove.

I am in Columbus, OH. I have a new home so it is pretty tight and very open. Will try to heat about 3000 sq ft. I was interested in the Buck 91 because it is so big. I have looked at several stoves did not find anything locally as big as the buck 91. Was also looking at Appalachian 52 Bay. I think Buck is pretty isolated to the midatlantic region and does not get to far out of their immediate territory.

hi Buckeye 2012,
I run a 91 and love it. I get 12 to 16 hours on a packed load depending on wood and conditions.
The cat is not a problem and it is large enough that you don't get any back puffing as I did with other stoves.
I was running a xtra large Dutchwest and I get better results from the 91, more heat !!
If you have any particular concerns or questions just ask.

David
