I have a new Englander model 13-NC stove that I will be installing in a new construction home. According to the manual ( revised 10/08) the use of double wall stove pipe and the optional heat shields will INCREASE my clearance to combustibles compared to an installation using single wall stove pipe with no heat shields on the stove. ( the specific measurements are stove pipe to wall and back of stove to wall) Is this correct? If so how can it be as I thought both the double wall stove pipe and heat shields would DECREASE my clearance to combustible measurements?
Thanks for whatever light you can shed on my confusion.
John
