I just received the replacement refractory for my 2462 Lg dutchwest stove but there is a cutout in the back of it that was not cutout on original. Is this a new design or do I have the wrong one? Thanks for any help.

Just did an inner top replacement on a 2460, have the same issue in reverse! I have an older refractory that won't sit flush so I have to cut it to accomodate the contour of the new inner top. I don't know when that change happened, but it did. You could fill your gap w gasketing or kaowool. Prolly a good idea too, wouldn't want the potential for flame cutting at that point.
