i have a quadra fire castile free standing pellet stove. when we are using it we have a huge flame. when it quits feeding pellets the flame will instantly die out. any ideas on what the issue could be?

Huge? Does it mean yellow and lazy?

Sounds like a lake of air intake. Is the combustion blower runing fine? Door gaskets OK? Sufficient (and free) fresh air pipe?

When was the last time it was thoroughly cleaned? Was the venting pipe cleaned as well?

What you describe is a 'non-vacuumed' fire. It means that combustion fan doesn't suck fresh air across the burn pot as it may does.

Is exhaust free fron ash?
If the burn pot is drilled, are the holes clear?
Are removable plates and all gaskets well seated?
