The National Weather Service In Green Bay Has Issued A Winter
Storm Watch...Which Is In Effect From Tuesday Evening Through
    Wednesday Afternoon.

    • Some Light Snow Could Develop Over Central And North-Central
Wisconsin As Early As Mid-Day Tuesday...But The Significant Snow
Is Expected To Fall Tuesday Night And Wednesday. The Snow Could
Be Heavy At Times...Especially Late Tuesday Night And Wednesday
    Morning.

    • Snowfall Totals Of 5 To 8 Inches Are Expected South Of A Kewaunee
To Wisconsin Rapids Line...While Totals Of 9 To 15 Inches Are Expected
North Of This Line By Wednesday Evening.
    Snowfall Totals Are Still
Somewhat Uncertain Across Portions Of Central And Northeast Wisconsin
Due To The Amount Of Warm Air Working Into The Region. The Amount Of
Warm Air Will Significantly Impact Precipitation Types And Snowfall
    Totals In This Region.

    • Strong East Winds Are Expected To Cause Considerable Blowing And
Drifting Of The Snow. The Snow Combined With Blowing And Drifting
Snow Will Make Travel Very Difficult. Sleet And Freezing Rain
Mixing With The Snow Over Portions Of East-Central Wisconsin
Will Result In A Very Heavy Wet Snow...Which Will Be Difficult
    To Shovel Or Plow.

We've been spoiled so far this year....

It is what is is. I don't subscribe to the notion that we are "due" for any particular weather except for the fact that seasons change.
I have really enjoyed this mostly open winter. The only thing that would have been better is to not ha d so much ice. But there again, it is what it is!
Forecast for this area is for March 1st to be a big storm. Snow blower and shovels are ready. Bird feeders are full. Back up supplies still available. But not all gloom and doom. I am getting my seed ordered and setting up the solar space for planting seedlings.

Oh crap I'm with Jay - keep it up there in the NW corner please!
I'm ready to put the snowplow, snowblower, and shovels (Unused this season)
to the back of the garage and bring the mountain bicycle and
motorcycle to the front but I know if I do all that we are sure to
    get a snow event.

Looks like MA is getting some snow Wednesday night. Will it be a hit or miss.... Lately they hype up a storm which then turns to nothing.... We'll see what happens.

Can you send some of that stuff to Maryland? I like snow. I also like to watch the havoc break out at the first sign of a flurry. Marylander's tend to think a couple of inches of snow is on par with nuclear holocaust.

We ain't had anything to write home about this year at all, and I would like to see at least a foot or two before summer shows up. Oh yeah, we don't get spring--we just go from late winter into hot, humid summer. Ick.

    We're getting rain.

Freezing here and a few inches of snow -not ice- on the ground, unusual this winter. But the lake has a lot of open water...usually you can drive on it in February. Calling for snow, looks like snow, but I doubt it will snow. Ground is so dry the garden can be worked. Expect to get early crops in next week. If they don't grow, big deal. I'll reseed. Figure with this crazy year it is worth pretending I'm in Zone 7. Drove along the Mohawk yesterday: it is crazy scary low. Almost dry across in lots of places. If we don't get a really wet spring, especially if we have another hot summer up here, we're in for big trouble. Know that as of the end of Sept. we had water levels in the Rideau watershed that were at record lows. It's been darn dry since then. Most people don't seem to be aware of the situation. Really good this year to get firewood in while there is still some moisture in the woods. This may be a bad fire year. At any rate, if it is dry anad the woods are challenged, the less they are disturbed the better. Good leaf cover and touching canopy keeps a bit of water in and gives the trees a chance. We had one year a while back that was perfectly still - no wind or breeze all summer. Very dry. Leaves died, turned brown and fell off in August. Now that was an awful sight.

Supposed to be 78 here on thursday with snow sunday night. It's like a revolving door here lately. Got 4" of snow a couple weeks ago and then it was 82 a couple days later.

I've heard from several weather people say there isn't any thing to keep the cold air to hang around. Something about blocking over greenland? Dunno..

Spring will be here soon though.
