I'm thinking of buying one for my woodstove & wondering how well they work before I shell out hard earned bucks. Has anyone tried one & what is your opinion?

I havent used one, but there are several threads on here about them. They are nt looked upon very well. They are creosote factories.

At producing creosote, they work great. ;-P
The downside to these seaming wonderful creations are that if used with an EPA stove, they will actually have a tendency to lower your stack temp into the dreaded creosote range. And thats bad.

Might work decent on an old Franklin stove or something like that. But, in general, these are not for either modern stoves or the last generation (air-tights).
