Well, I'm still Kindleless, otherwise I might actually spring for 99 cents. Actually, for the price of a Kindle, I could just buy you a few cups of coffee. :p

Sorry - had to remove the PDF - because Amazons terms are that it cannot be published anywhere other than their site and google already picked this up!

"I think I published my first short book....."

I think its a good read. Albeit short, it contains a great insight into your life.

Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to more ;)

    Good read.
    Memories for sure.
I was on the play ground in Albright WV. We were all called into the gym, told about Kennedy, went home early.
When I got home, Mom was crying.

As the saying goes: "if you remember the 60's, you weren't there".
But I remember girls burning their bras. :)

    It's really a short....that's why it's 99 cents!

Maybe eventually I will string a bunch of these together into a real book.

I already found a bunch of errors in it...

Good job Craig! I got a real sense of bittersweet nostalgia- which is ironic considering the "live in the moment" vibe you were living.

An aside- I'm a big fan of the precursors to Reggae- ska and rocksteady. You were there for the beginning of a real turning point

Nice story. A glimpse into the real Rasta man.

These were probably poseur Rastas.....but I suppose (like hippies) most were!

Some of the real characters reportedly live in "cockpit country", which is the center of the island where no roads reached until very recently. Jamaica has an interesting history - many of the slaves refused to be "domesticated" and ran into the interior. As you can imagine, these people became fiercely independent as compared to populations who were under the whip for hundreds of years.

As an weird addition to the story, my GF's (before webwidow) sister became involved with some really bad boys (drug smuggling) down there, and reportedly disappeared and is buried or eaten by wildlife (sea or land) somewhere on the island. Her dad sent the FBI and Private Investigators for a decade or more....no sign! As I said in the story, if you get into the wrong hands down there, there is no law to protect or find you.

Things are pretty bad in much of the island- drug violence there is outrageous. Better to not leave the Sandals resort...

Murder of locals hardly makes the news. Of course, the same is true in many places here.

But if a Hedonism tourist got capped....that would be international news.

I think that things have changed for Americans looking for dope, as the police are looking for them in particular. If you want someone to pay "a fine"- then arrest someone with money.

A speeding ticket is easy, relatively safe and generates income.
Nailing the idiot on the corner for pushing pills can be dangerous, and cash flow negative.

Bad boys, bad boys, whut cha gonna do? Bad Boys, bad boys.....
