I'm Getting a New Pellet Stove! But My Dealer Doesn't Like It!

    Must comply with certain standards, pellet stoves are tested in a laboratory and then are listed as compling with a certain standard. The standards are usually set by government and insurance underwriting groups.

    Listing is required by most jurisdictions (towns, cities, states, provinces, etc ...) and insurance companies in order to be able to legally install in or obtain insurance for a dwelling.

    Failure to maintain insurance is also a issue with mortgages, as in it will breach the terms of a mortgage and allow foreclosure to take place.
