Big storm coming and the probability of a power outage is relatively high. If you do not yet have a surge protector for your stove (and I can't believe there are too many) you basically have two choices....

    1. Either go out today and buy one
    or...
    2. Post on here over the weekend how you wish that you had gotten one

Something to consider- If you fry your circuit board and need to order a replacement and your dealer does not have it in stock, it could be a cold 2 or 3 weeks before it comes in. Protect that stove as if your heat depended upon it cuz it does!

Well I'm going to clean my stove and do a bit of maintenance on the snow blower, the stupid chute swinging system seems to have a problem staying where you last set it. So when the boss goes to quilt club this morning I'll haul the blower into the garage and fix that right up. For some reason I might need it working the way it should.

There is a Hurricane Wind Watch in effect for a lot of the Maine coast.

C'mon, Smokey. You know dang well that it doesn't matter where that chute is pointed, you know where it's going. Think "avoiding the smoke at a campfire".

Actually my ole beast does a really good job of sending the white stuff many tens of feet away and if it the chute stays locked to either side this critter doesn't get it in his face. It is all fixed, took just a few minutes. In fact I had it all fixed before the boss got back from the store with some soda and ice cream. Next up is to clean the stove, I'm waiting for the outside temp to be a bit higher.

Yeah, the classics seem to last forever with minimum TLC. Mine also throws far but strangely I always end up downwind of it no matter which direction I'm going. I used to think those cab shroud things were a waste of $$$ but maybe not :)
