Someone told me that I need to put some kind of protector on our leather couches otherwise they will dry out using the wood stove for heat? Is that true and what should I use?

I use Lexol for leather. It works well. I usually apply every three months to keep it soft.

I use Bick's. The recliner is in the den with the PE.

Saddles & tack look wunnerful :)

Lexol works. It is not a cleaner but will help the leather. You can buy that in many places, including TSC or anywhere they sell things for horses.
