Ive had my Regency F2400 for a year now and so far so good, good heat ,clean glass,S.S.liner inside looks good ... ..What I would like to find out is what is the highest temp that this stove can handle safely.....Ive looked threw the manual but cant find anything on max operating temps....The high end temps that I get go from 600 at the stove pipe using a Condar magnetic before adjustment and using a Condar Inferno stove top thermometer it has been 650 before I adjust,, from there it will do a slow slide to 550 and stay for a while as it burns down and loses heat....Of cause if one is high the other is low and vise-versa .....Im really not worried about a over-fire as I keep a eye on the temps and adjust as needed but I would just like to know if someone knows what the max temp for this brand of stove could be .I have been reading most of the post so far on temps and the different stoves have varying max temps...BTW I also use a IR laser and the Condars are off ,,slightly higher than IR, the stove top therm being closer to the IR reading than the stove pipe therm.... Well thanks for any input...Happy Thanksgiving .Keep the fires burning......Mario in Va...

It should be fine at that temp. Steel stoves usually can be run up to 700F without any issues.

Can anyone else confirm temps for stove top or door at 500 - 700 degrees is safe for this stove?

I was given a "HomeSaver" thermometer for the door that has a RED zone of "too hot" for anything equal or above 500 degrees.

Is there a better \ more accurate thermometer I should be using? Too bad the thermometers are not supplied with the stove (at least from Regency) from the manufacturer so they can govern what is typically the safe range for their stove rather than this third party "HomeSaver" brand telling me.

Thanks in advance...

Sounds like you have a magnetic flue thermometer designed for the stove pipe. If so you can ignore the ranges, they are not for the stove top. 500-700F are normal operating temps for the stove top. Or pick up a thermometer specifically for the stove top.

Not sure that its for the stove pipe. The dealer told me it goes on the door.

This is it... http://www.efireplacestore.com/cpf-...nnelid=FROOG&gclid=CIv-gLGXwrwCFepFMgode2gA9Q

Description says "Attaches easily using a strong magnet to a stovetop or stovepipe. Makes it easy to tell if the stove is burning too hot or too cold."

Also the Condor site says theirs is also magnetic so it seems confusing. Are the magnetic ones only for stove pipes? Doesn't seem like that is the case since the one you recommend is for the stove top and is also magnetic.

"Stove Top Thermometers
Attach magnetically on top of your stove, or front or side surface. Versatile Stove Top models work for any stove. Engineered to measure hotter temperatures than those found in the stovepipe"
