Feels pretty good to be prepared, doesn't it?4 tons of Somersets now stacked and ready.
You just beat me to saying that myself.... I'm ready and it's a good feeling!I wonder how long before Pellet-King comes here and tells you that you got sucked in.
Nice. Looks like you have quite a bit of room there. Do you have a pallet jack? Or did they drop them right against the wall for you?

I got about 1500 lbs in the closet, and 4500 lbs out in the garage, but the 4th ton has to lie outside right now and my delivery in a month of another 4 tons will also have to live outside till I make room. I don't look forward to moving them in a bag at a time this winter. :-(
how is the price?I just bought 4 tons of somerset today... Hand stacked, backs killing me, but I'm glad I have the lions share ready to go.
how is the price?
What a great price!Mine were $218 a ton. The delivery charge for the 4 tons was $45.
Ah, Lowe's just had the big propane "back of the truck" forklift. The three wheeled type. He had to drop the pallets about a foot and a half from the outside wall. The delivery guy used an electric pallet jack to place two of the 1 ton pallets against the wall. I had to manually stack the other 2 tons.
Don't worry about that. He's entitled to his opinion. Bottom line for me is being prepared. If I have money and space, I'm buying early. If that means I end up paying a little more on the extremely unlikely chance that prices actually go down in winter then so be it. We live in New England yet I always marvel at people who wait until the night before a major snowstorm to go to Lowes to buy a shovel.I wonder how long before Pellet-King comes here and tells you that you got sucked in.
You Western Guys can just stop teasing the yankees now. Honestly.. enough with the ho.. hum.. I just bought a ton of DF's for 200 bucks...A local lumberyard stocks Cleanburn douglas fur pellets year round for $199/ton. I buy them as needed, no stocking up.

I get that feeling in June usually when I get my stash.Sweet, nothing like the satisfaction of knowing the 1st week of September that you'll be warm until March
