Hello all!
Rob Wilkinson logging in for the first time from Center Valley Pa.
The wife & I just had an Ecoteck "Veronica" series pellet stove installed.
www.ecoteck.us
The local electric company has gone and increased their rates by 30% and our home, built in '76, is 100% electric.
We looked into solar, but the initial cost was astronomical.
Our stove has the ability to split the airflow from 100% out the front to 100% out the back into two round ducts via a baffle under the hopper lid.
Right now we're running 100% out the front of the unit and using the pickup for our heat pump in fan only mode to circulate the air.
I'm going to make a youtube video tonight or tomorrow morning with a quick walkthrough of the stove and the houses layout.
I'm thinking we MIGHT run the two rear ducts up into the attic and down to the other end of the house where the coldest rooms are located if the heat pump fan isn't enough to circulate the air from the front of the unit.
Sorry for the rambling post... we're just getting out of work right now & I have to log off.
I look forward to getting everyones advice on the best way to move the heat around our home
