Quick question for you knowledgeable folks. I am installing a wood stove in the basement of a new home. There is an eight foot concrete wall directly behind the stove. The plan is to go out through the wall with the stove pipe just above the grade. What do people normally do with the OAK when installing in the basement? Should I go out through the concrete wall, or go up the wall to the point of the rim joist and go out there?

Cheers

I would go out the rim joist, similar to a dryer vent.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was thinking that I would do, but I didn't know if that was the way that it would usually be done.
