Hello. My parents recently bought a house which has a heatform fireplace by superior. It has a long vent on top above the fireplace and two small intake vents on the bottom. These have a fan installed in each. The fans are plugged into outlets inside the vents but there is no power there. If I plug the fans in extension cords they both work. What controls these fans we can’t locate any switches or controls for them? The unit was inspected and it’s good for use. We lit a fire hoping there is a thermal sensor to turn the fans on but nothing happened. Any info is greatly appreciated

They are usually wired to a wall switch somewhere.

We went through all the wall switches in the living room and all are accounted for.

Look below in the crawlspace or basement for a feed. If none, it's possible that the line was rerouted at some point during it's history and no longer serves the fans.
