So I have an older osburn regent 1000 ( I believe this is the model, not alot of info around on this). It has no cat or secondary burn so when I shut the damper down it will just about kill the fire, including the coals. Overnight ive been leaving it just over a quarter open, to where im seeing flames but not alot. How much should you shut down a stove like this before you start smoldering and creating creosote? Does anyone have experience with this model?
