I believe you will find most folks that have bought the optional screens for stoves such as this one (or the Jotul Oslo for example) have used the screen a few times and then realized that they were sending a lot of heat up the chimney . . . and only ended up using the screen a few times before putting it into the attic, garage, shed, etc.
To burn down the coals you are better off learning when to put wood on the coals, opening up the air or putting a single, small split on the coals and opening up the air.
