When I say 1 1/2 hour before I shut down the air all the way, is that I do not leave it wide open more than 15 min either, and then I close it in steps until top temp get to at least 700 F. If I try to completely close air before, the flames will die and the temp will drop. I am taking of dry wood here (18 month).
