You can't tell that he's kidding? Relax, stick around, and get to know some of the folks here...they really are a pretty good (and mostly civil & friendly) crew. Rick

It isn't bickering yet, but if that conversation continues it will be. But not for long. >>

ETA: Sorry Rick. We were typing at the same time.

It ain't bickering if you are providing our experiences and the two do not agree.

Case in point if one party is yelping about such and such being high ash and another party is praising the same such and such as being low ash you might want to ask a few dozen questions of both parties starting with what is the picture on the bag, this may lead you to discover one of those parties has 5 year old stock he got from a salvage place and the other has something made day before yesterday.

    Just sayin'.

And yes BB likely you bicker as well :p .

I'd prefer something with a bit more expressiveness say flamethrowers at midnight?

Yeah the pellet discussions can be fun to watch. Kinda like the cord wood burners with types of wood and moisture content. You guys have a whole different set of variables to work with. Except, I suspect, that how the stove is operated is a biggie with either one.

Actually the bickering is sometimes rather fun! For some it depends on how thick your skin is.

Perhaps we could rated the pellets we have tried an a scale of 1 to 10 and the pellet list would adjust with the top rated pellets down. A second list would have to be alphabetical and from there our comments on the specific brands could be posted. Any bets on number 1? Barefoot premium?

With enough ratings and comments the occasional "way off review" would be minimized and a reasonable picture would emerge. If 1 person hates a pellet and 20 love it I would risk a purchase.

That would be regional. Bear Mountains would be number one here.

Of course its a good idea; but only from a starting point. There are so many variables, as already stated, year to year manuf pellets change, and even from the same manuf, but produced at different plants/locations can result in a completely different product. But the idea is good because competition is always healthy for the consumer price wise, and without 'outside interference', will usually allow the consistently better quality product to rise to the top.

    Think this needs another bump!

IHATPROPANE, Where the heck is the thread where you compared a few brands? I need to see that again!
  25. If we've got a sticky pinned at the top of our Pellet Mill home page pertaining to Pellet Pricing Reports (which are at best only relevant to particular periods of time in particular areas) wouldn't it make a load of sense to have a sticky which lets us chime-in with our personal experience and ratings on these pellets, which would in-turn apply to a much more broad spectrum of board members here?

    Webbie, you out there???
